Engagement Session

I have finally come around to posting these! We took our engagements a couple weeks back and we had so much fun this day. The props were really impromptu and I decided last minute to just pick up some flowers from Broulim’s and use them in the photos. I will post our outfit details at the bottom as well.

Also, Cassie is the best! Not only is she my soon-to be sister in law but she is a great creative photographer. We took these just outside of Teton, Idaho, just before you get up the mountain to Packsaddle Lake. It was freezing this day so we just decided to take the photos in a field and among trees. This was a fun shoot and I am so happy with the outcome. I will truly treasure these forever.

Adams Canyon Daytrip

What can I say? We love the outdoors….

The computer that I am currently typing on literally has a million stickers on it (more like 10) just exclaiming how much I love the outdoors! One of my favorite quotes is from a Park City sticker that says “Adventure starts when plans end”. Such a simple quote but it really has a lot of meaning to it.

We did exactly that last Saturday when we had a free afternoon after a day of traveling for 10 hours straight from Salt Lake to Boise and back (I told you, we really do love to travel).

We decided to go to Adam’s Canyon, located in Layton, Utah. At the end of the hike is a waterfall but we didn’t want to push ourselves too far so we just decided to go halfway and hammock at the very top of the canyon. I got to say this place is beautiful and it might be my new favorite hiking area.

Adam’s canyon is located about 30-45 minutes from Salt Lake City. And I am telling you this hidden gem is really hidden. If there was no Google maps, I would be lost.

When you first start the hike you come across what looks like stairs but really are just steep hills with wooden railing on the side, which makes it easier to get up. This part proved to be the most difficult part of the hike but other than that it is a pretty intermediate hike. Also at the very top you get rewarded with a gorgeous view of the Great Salt Lake!

We hung up our hammock (which is our new obsession) and put it on these two tree branches where we were able to chill and fall asleep for a little bit, which was nice.

If you ever get to visit Salt Lake, definitely sacrifice the drive to this place and spend a day exploring the beauty of the canyons of Utah. You won’t regret it.

Hi everyone! I hope your having a great week so far. Its almost Friday. (Holla!)

Okay, so I pretty much live for  a good portrait photo. I think everyone in their life should have a portrait of themselves done right, because I mean who doesn’t love a good photo of themselves (you know your thinking that too).

My wonderful (soon- to be) sister in law is an amazing photographer. I really look up to her skills of photography and the way she uses natural lighting in her work. If you need a photographer in the Idaho/ Utah area. Check her out!

We had an impromptu shoot at her loft in Idaho and it was so random but so fun. These photos were taken last spring but I still really admire them. Whenever I see them I think teenage witch meets Bohemian loft….. haha I know weird combo right. But it works!

Zoo Trip

We went to the zoo! This past week we headed to Utah’s Hogle Zoo. Located outside of Salt Lake City. We were there to celebrate Hyrum’s nieces birthday and it was so fun! Very exhausting but fun.

Their are several exhibits and tons of animals to see. Even though we did not get to see every single animal we saw a good chunk of them all. Lions, Tigers, Panthers and Bears!

Our favorite exhibit was probably the seals. They were very lively and practically put on a show for everyone there. It was really interesting to see them play and swim effortlessly in the water through all the rock medians in the water. The kids had an absolute blast as well! I mean look at the girls faces!!

Overall it was a very eventful day full of love and happiness and a whole lot of animals. Forever grateful for my second family.
